About Us

We are the Geminis, George, Kristin, Georgie, Charlie, and Bailey the beagle. We started sailing in our Catalina 22, Bottoms Up, as family when Georgie was only five months old. Since that first, unforgettable trip, we have continued to sail the Potomac River. Halloween of 2018, we bought our new boat, Gemini, which this blog is dedicated to.

I had learned to sail at my parents’ lake house in New York as a teenager. Many summers were spent figuring out how to make the boat go, and then go faster. I still enjoy taking the Precision 14 out on that small lake when we visit.

Mrs. Gemini and I got married in the summer of 2013. At the time, neither one of us had done any more sailing outside of the weekends up at my parents’. Two years later, in the dead of a Virginian summer in 2015, we bought our first boat together, a Catalina 22 named Bottoms Up. We went on several day sails together, primarily on Lake Anna, VA with our beagle, Bailey.

That December our first son was born. George become a sailor the following Memorial Day. We continued to sail together, day trips as well as overnights. I also crewed in Thursday night races on the Potomac river. Then, in April 2018, our second son, Charles, was born. The following Labor Day, Charlie became a sailor. The Catalina 22 was getting small, so we bought Gemini.

We plan to continue cruising as a family, racing Gemini in those very same Thursday night races, and taking care of this old boat. We look forward to sharing all of our adventures with you.
